Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
